James Canfield is thrilled to be making his debut with Shakespeare in the Woods. James is an NYC-based actor, playwright, and director with an MFA in Acting from East 15 Acting School in London. Some previous Shakespeare acting credits include Helenus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Tier5 Theatre Company), Sir Toby Belch/Antonio in Twelfth Night (Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival), Banquo in Macbeth (Red Monkey Theatre Group), Paris in Romeo & Juliet (EMIT), Gravedigger in Hamlet (EMIT), Simonides/Cleon in Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Shakespeare’s Globe/East 15). James’s original plays Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII, The Secret Garden, Legend of the Chalk Circle, and The Christmas Carol: A Queer Fantasia have been critically acclaimed, won awards, and been produced in the USA, UK, and even translated to Portuguese and performed in Brazil!
