MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
ROMEO AND JULIET
AUGUST 29 - SEPTEMBER 1
THE TAMING OF THE SHREW
SEPTEMBER 5 - 8
AUGUST 22 - 25
Heralded as one of Shakespeare's wittiest comedies, this adaptation for our time tells the story of a group of soldiers returning to Vermont following a successful battle abroad. When they are all invited to stay under one roof, the result is a romantic comedy filled with love, deception, and mistaken identity. Performed by an all-female cast, this Much Ado explores the world of masculinity and the many ways in which it shapes our society.
In this modern staging, two feuding families- one local, the other summer people - from very different sides of the tracks clash in a small town in Southern Vermont. Each has a young daughter - one Romeo, the other Juliet. The sacrifices they are forced to make for the chance to be together set everything tumbling towards the unforgettable tragic conclusion of the most famous romance of all time.

Shakespeare’s traditionally comedic battle of the sexes, this time seen through our own
contemporary lens, and set abroad in a small Italian town where old customs die hard. Amid Bianca's many suitors in various disguises, we witness Petruchio’s attempt to “tame” the shrewish Katharina in the light of today’s Me Too movement.
